Television advertising has become a booming business, as advertisers increasingly seek out new ways to reach a growing audience and as the Internet has allowed advertisers to more efficiently reach the average viewer.
The TV ad market is estimated to be worth about $1.5 billion in the U.S. alone, according to the ad agency group Nielsen.
TV ads are viewed by more than 10 million people per year, and advertisers are spending more on TV ads than ever before.
According to Nielsen, television advertising reached its peak in 2008 and has since dropped slightly.
TV advertising now spends just under $500 million per year on advertising, down from $542 million in 2010.
The ad industry is expected to spend $834.9 million on TV advertising in 2018, according a study commissioned by the ad industry trade group, the National Association of Broadcasters.
